This Request for Proposals (the “RFP”) is an invitation by the Corporation of the City of St. Thomas (the “City”) to prospective respondents to submit Proposals for Consultant Selection – Design & Contract Administration Services – Fire Station No. 2 Addition, as further described in Section A of the RFP Particulars (Appendix B) (the “Deliverables”). 

Located between Toronto and Detroit in southwestern Ontario, the City of St. Thomas is a growing community home to almost 45,000 residents. Known for its rich railway heritage, this vibrant community blends small-town charm with urban conveniences, offering beautiful parks, a bustling downtown, and various cultural and recreational amenities. The city supports a dynamic economy, fostering industries from manufacturing to technology, and provides high-quality services to ensure residents’ well-being.

Fire Station Two is located at 235 Burwell Road. In anticipation of the pending commissioning of the PowerCo battery production facility, the Corporation of the City of St. Thomas has allocated funds for the construction of the following additions to the existing Fire Station:

• A third bay to accommodate a 36’ foam pumper truck 
• Associated driveway/staff parking expansion
• New dorm area for four (4) staff

The City of St. Thomas will require the design and contract administration services of a full-service consulting engineering firm to provide all necessary services through to project close out.
