The intent of this is to understand the market interest in the potential acquisition and uses for the currently vacant, City-owned land and building at 50 Wellington Street, St. Thomas. The site is just over 0.5 ha (1.2 acres) and is bounded by Elgin, Wellington, Hincks and Gladstone Streets. It contains a former school building of heritage value along with parking and landscaping. There could be a wide range of potential adaptive re-use of the building along with potential for additional uses on site (subject to review and permits). The City has not declared the lands surplus at this time but is reviewing options and proposals from interested parties as to the potential for acquisition of the land and future reuse.
