The Corporation of the City of St. Thomas (the City) is issuing this Request for Pre-Qualification (RFPQ) to solicit responses from interested, qualified, contractors (Respondents) who are capable of undertaking the Burwell Sewage Pumping Station (Burwell SPS) project as noted in the RFPQ documents. The Burwell SPS project will commence in Spring 2025. The project will consist of a new pumping station built at the existing Burwell sewage pumping station site with a pumping capacity of approximately 190 L/s that provides sanitary servicing to the Northeastern quadrant of the City. Strategic coordination between surrounding residents and traffic will also be required to achieve project success. Strict, non-negotiable deadlines will also need to be achieved. This is the first stage in a two-stage process. It is anticipated that a request for tender will be issued within 180 days after the closing time of this RFPQ. The City’s intent is to pre-qualify construction companies, who will ultimately be invited to bid on the Burwell SPS project in the spring of 2025.
